Rowland + Broughton Architecture / Urban design / Interior design announced this week that four associate members of the team have become owners of the firm. Associates Craig Lawrence, AIA, Will Otte, LEED, Leslie Cope, IIDA, and Steve Harris, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, became owners alongside founders John Rowland, AIA, NCARB and Sarah Broughton, AIA, NCARB, NCIDQ .
R + B Project Owner and Manager Craig Lawrence, AIA, has nearly fifteen years of architectural and construction experience, working on high-end residential, hotel, multi-family and commercial projects. He is currently engaged in various historical and institutional preservation projects including the Resnick Center of Herbert Bayer Studies and the Boettcher Building in Aspen, the R + B Denver Studio and the addition to the Mesa Building in Aspen.
Recognizing his promotion as Owner, Lawrence notes, “The Owner position represents the opportunity to contribute to the success of R + B on a deeper level in all aspects of the Studio: from amazing projects to business strategy to team coaching. It is a wonderful and humbling chance to dedicate myself to success and leadership once again! “
R + B Project Owner and Manager Will Otte, LEED AP BD + C, has 12 years of architectural experience. During his tenure at R + B, he went from an initial role as an emerging professional to that of a team leader and mentor at the Denver studio, while achieving LEED AP certification in building design and construction. His design sensibilities led to the design and construction of commercial projects such as the Victorian Square Building in Aspen, hospitality projects such as the Jerome Hotel and Doubletree Park City, and an installation for the Biennale Architettura. in Venice (unrealized due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but hopes to exhibit in 2022).

R + B Project Owner and Manager Leslie Cope, IIDA, is involved in a variety of high end hospitality and residential projects. As the leader of R + B studios, she was instrumental in the design of Matsuhisa Denver and Narrative Restaurant, Waterfront Loft, Mountain Loft and Architect Retreat condominiums, and McLain Flats, The Lookout and Modern private residences. R + B Owner and Project Manager Steve Harris, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, leads design teams on a variety of project scale and complexity. He was instrumental in leading the design of several R + B projects, including Farm Collaborative, a net zero educational institution and the revitalization of the Main Street Bakery.

CBRE Promotes Andrew Sullivan to Vice President of Assessment and Consulting Services in Denver
CBRE announced that Andrew Sullivan has been promoted to vice president of valuation and advisory services in Denver.
Mr. Sullivan is a real estate appraiser whose work has spanned several US markets and property types including office, retail, multi-family, industrial and land. Mr. Sullivan has completed commercial property appraisals in 29 states during his career to date. He is a Colorado Certified General Appraiser and Designated Fellow of the Appraisal Institute (MAI). Mr. Sullivan holds a master’s degree in real estate from Texas A&M University.
Anthem Structural Engineers Hires New Team Member
Anthem Structural Engineers– with offices in Golden, Boulder and Steamboat Springs – hired a talented new Project Engineer, Casey Casias, PE
Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Casey joined the Anthem team in 2021 after several years of work in the structural engineering industry in Colorado. She started her career after obtaining her master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2015, and then obtained her PE license in 2020.
She fell in love with Colorado after earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. So she returned to the Front Range to establish her roots as soon as she finished her stay at Notre Dame. Because of her love for the area, she enjoys projects that allow her to contribute to the beauty and safety of the community and the greater Rocky Mountain region of Colorado.
Casey believes in the importance of good communication and clear goals when developing structural designs for commercial buildings and residences, and greatly values the relationships developed throughout the design process. Plus, his passion for design really comes through as projects emerge from the ground up into tangible creations throughout the construction process. As a Project Engineer in our team, she develops detailed calculations for our projects and works closely with architectural partners to develop structural designs that support the overall aesthetic and functional goals of each unique assignment.
Dominion Water & Sanitation District welcomes Andrea Cole as General manager
Federal Water and Sanitation District (DWSD), a wholesale water, wastewater and stormwater supplier for northwestern Douglas County, is pleased to welcome Andrea Cole as the organization’s CEO. Ms. Cole will continue to advance the fundamental goals of the DWSD through thought leadership on water sustainability in Douglas County.
DWSD’s water supply portfolio is based on renewable supplies, echoing Douglas County’s vision of relying on non-renewable sources. This vision is shared by Sterling Ranch, a DWSD customer, who has implemented effective conservation planning and demand management measures in their community, setting an example for future DWSD customers. Looking to the future, DWSD is piloting the first rainwater harvesting program in the state of Colorado. In addition, DWSD is working in partnership with basin stakeholders to find a regional solution for wastewater.
