Project description: Kristen Whitehead, project manager at Paragon Architecture, said the Marshfield School District Early Years Center is set to be completed before next school year on its site behind Hubbell Elementary School. Voters in the district approved an $8.5 million bond issue to build the center, but the building is expected to cost $8 million to construct, Whiteman said. The school has eight classrooms for preschoolers and four for early childhood special education. The one-story building is also equipped with a kitchen, library, offices for the Parents-as-Teachers program, and spaces for speech therapy and physiotherapy services. A multi-purpose hall will also serve as a storm shelter, according to the district’s website. In addition to the building, a new road will be added with the remaining bond funds to serve school traffic and reduce congestion.
