InterContinental Grand Ankara announced for 2023
The conversion project is slated to open in the nation’s capital in 2023 and will mark the transformation of the historic old Büyük Ankara hotel, which dates back to 1966 when it was launched as the city’s first five-star hotel and then became the Grand Ankara Hotel.
IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) announced the signing of the InterContinental Grand Ankara, in partnership with one of Turkey’s leading energy and construction groups, Çelikler Holding.
The conversion project is slated to open in the nation’s capital in 2023 and will mark the transformation of the historic former Büyük Ankara hotel, which dates back to 1966 when it was launched as the city’s first five-star hotel and then became the Grand Ankara Hotel.
The InterContinental Grand Ankara will exude modern luxury in its 214 rooms, including a 350 m² Presidential Suite and 21 other suites. World-class meals are offered with all-day menus, served in the Brasserie restaurant, which features an elegant lobby bar, and the Lalezar restaurant, with a private terrace. When the time comes to relax, the hotel’s 1,500 m² spa is the ideal place to spend a few hours, while its swimming pool will be located on a 1,000 m² terrace with a retractable roof.
The hotel itself is located near many local attractions including; Ankara Castle, the historic site of the mausoleum; Anitkabir, the second largest aquarium in Europe, has parks, green spaces and museums, which makes it attractive to families, tourists and business visitors.
