Future Firm is looking for a Chartered Project Architect with 5+ years of experience to join our growing office. Certification as a licensed professional is required. Professional degree in architecture plus at least five years of related experience. The Project Architect will be responsible for the delivery of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet client needs. This Project Architect will lead collaborations within the company and provide design feedback and technical guidance to Staff Architects. This Project Architect will communicate with clients and other project stakeholders and coordinate with project consultants. Experience with Chicago building code and permitting process preferred.

As part of a design-driven and collaborative practice, we are looking for an experienced, self-driven, self-motivated candidate who also has strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. Additionally, this role requires the ability to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, create drawings in AutoCAD or Revit, prioritize work, and collaborate with various teams. Responsibilities
– Maintain an organized workflow, manage the project schedule and collaborate with Future Firm team members as well as consultants and contractors
– Management and coordination of construction plans, with a focus on translating design direction into construction documents and managing the permitting process
– Produce technical documentation, including drawing, as well as markup, to assist the team in producing project documentation

Requirements
– 5+ years of experience on residential and/or commercial projects including project management
– License required (any US jurisdiction)
– Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino and Revit
– Excellent understanding of building systems
– Excellent communication skills, including an ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, staff and other collaborators.
– Experience in project coordination/management
Experience and knowledge of the Chicago building code and permitting process
– A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture in five years
– Fluent English
– Authorized to work in the United States
