Job Overview

The Research Services Division (RSD) is part of the Research and Innovation portfolio and is responsible for providing high quality services and advice at both an operational and strategic level to support the research efforts of the ‘University. In collaboration with College staff and other portfolio members, the division provides leadership in the operations and management of research and innovation services in support of the University’s strategic objectives.

The Search Systems Manager will report to the Associate Director, Analytics and Search Systems. The successful candidate will effectively lead the team to support all business systems managed by the division, working with external vendors to ensure they are fit for purpose and maintained effectively. They will lead the development and implementation of projects to improve the University’s research management processes and application support services; as well as supporting continuous process improvement. They will also work closely with ITS to ensure that University research systems align with University roadmaps, maintain architectural integrity, and ensure the implementation of sustainable solutions.

This role will suit an analytical and self-starter who can identify problems and is willing to help solve them. Excellent communication and negotiation skills will also be essential to liaise effectively with key University stakeholders and design strategies to enable the most effective implementation and operations of systems to support our research community. . Strong experience in planning, developing and delivering new systems or business system enhancements to meet organizational requirements would be a distinct advantage.
