Restaurant on the 120th floor, butler service 24/7. This Shanghai hotel offers luxury in the clouds | World news
A new luxury hotel has opened in the city of Shanghai in China for guests with deep pockets and it is said to be the tallest in the world with a restaurant on the 120th floor and personal butler service, day and night.
The ‘J Hotel’, part of the Jin Jiang International Hotels, opened on Thursday. It was due to open earlier but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic around the world. The hotel has over 160 rooms and occupies the top floors of the 632-meter Shanghai Tower in the city’s financial district. After Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Shanghai Tower is the second tallest building in the world.
It’s also home to seven restaurants, several bars, a spa, and all the other usual attributes of upscale hotels. It also has a swimming pool on the 84th floor. Customers are excited in the blink of an eye as the elevators run at jaw-dropping speeds of 60 feet per second.
To celebrate the hotel’s opening, it is offering a “special experience rate” of 3,088 yuan ($ 450) per night, and the prices of its 34 suites are even higher. A night in a “J Suite”, complete with crystal chandeliers and a sauna, cost over 67,000 yuan ($ 10,362) last Saturday.
Despite the enormous costs of the experience, the hotel creates a lot of buzz. Renee Wu, director of sales and marketing, said many people showed considerable interest in the hotel. “On the day we opened, even the web page was overloaded with so many very interested visitors and they have such a strong desire to come and explore our hotel,” Wu said as quoted by AFP news agency.
“Of course, this is very encouraging for all of us, but at the same time, we are committed to ensuring that all of our guests are well taken care of,” Wu also said.
