Strategic Lands Manager/Planner – Place Nord-Ouest
Persimmon Homes Lancashire is in need of a strategic land manager to join our successful land management and planning team operating in the Lancashire and Cumbria region, a great part of the country to work. This role will be based in our regional office, based in Lancaster. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where your input will see sites come to life and be built.
As a Strategic Lands Manager/Planner within our regional office, you will be part of a small lands and planning team with exciting growth ambitions. Your main responsibilities will include finding medium to long term strategic development plots as well as providing planning reports, group reports, policy commentary, constraints and opportunities from a planning perspective. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of working within the plan-driven system who has the ability and experience to engage with landowners and manage the purchase process through land negotiation and progress of contracts. The candidate requires a good level of computer knowledge and knowledge of current legislation in terms of town planning and an ability to negotiate.
You will report to the Land Manager, who will support and assist your development in the operation of Persimmon, allowing you to manage transactions and land development, but always available to discuss, guide and help. They will give you clear goals. You will need to learn to be adaptable and strong in your management style with a consistent approach with in-house architectural engineers, external surveyors and consultants, agents, local authorities and landowners
The position requires an enthusiastic, confident, hard-working individual who is willing to show initiative. Professional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are essential. A full driving license is essential.

If this sounds appealing to you, we will need:
A sufficient level of planning expertise and knowledge of strategic development in the area, ideally the candidate will have some familiarity with land acquisition and dealing with land agents and planning authorities in the area. Someone who is motivated, asks questions, wants to progress and has a good work ethic. Numeracy confidence and negotiation skills are essential for this role. A degree in a relevant field related to planning, property or surveying is highly desirable.
